The present invention related to a device (10) for providing a compensated acoustic measurement of the level of a liquid (14) in a saddle tank (12), which saddle tank has a first and second section (18, 20) and an ejector system with a transportation pipe (26; 30) for transferring liquid between the sections. The device comprises a transducer assembly (34) for transmitting and receiving acoustic signals, a waveguide (40) connected to the transducer assembly and adapted to extend into one section of the saddle tank, and means for directing a flow of fluid from the transportation pipe of the ejector system along a portion of the waveguide which during operation is located above the liquid level. The present invention also relates to a method for providing a compensated acoustic measurement of the level of a liquid in a saddle tank.
