The present invention discloses an image processing system (100, 200) for a vehicle (300, 400) having an image capture device (101, 201) and having at least one display device (102, 202), having a communication interface (103, 203) that is configured to request vehicle parameters (104, 204) denoting a current state of the vehicle (300, 400) from the vehicle (300, 400), having a model memory (105, 205) that has a vehicle model (106, 206) and a multiplicity of geometry objects (107 – 109, 207 – 209) for the vehicle model (106, 206), and having an image generation device (110, 210) that is configured to take the requested vehicle parameters (104, 204) as a basis for selecting applicable geometry objects (107 – 109, 207 - 209) and linking them to the vehicle model (106, 206) to produce an overall model (215), and to overlay a depiction of the overall model (215) with an image (114) captured by the image capture devices (101, 201) and to output said depiction on the display device (102, 202). The present invention further discloses a corresponding image processing method.
