The invention discloses a jacking mechanism and a jacking method for a rotating platform of a tower type material distributor, the jacking mechanism comprises a jacking frame and a jacking assembly, the jacking frame is used for being installed on the rotating platform, the rotating platform is provided with a first channel and a second channel, the jacking assembly is installed in the jacking frame, and the jacking assembly is located above the first channel; the jacking assembly is used for downwards pushing the tower drum located in the first channel so as to jack the rotating platform and the jacking frame; the jacking frame further comprises track beams, the two track beams are transversely installed on the guide groove columns on the two sides respectively, and receding notches are formed in the positions, at the intersections with the track beams, of the guide groove columns. A crane carriage is installed on the track beam and can move above the second channel and the first channel in a reciprocating mode. The jacking assembly is used for pushing the tower barrel section located in the first channel downwards so as to jack the rotating platform and the jacking frame, and therefore jacking of the cargo boom is achieved.
