The invention belongs to the technical field of traffic flow control, and particularly relates to a heuristic traffic flow optimization method based on a particle swarm optimization algorithm, and the method comprises the steps: 1, traffic flow modeling; and step 2, particle swarm optimization optimization simulation is carried out. According to the method, by simulating bird flock foraging behaviors, an optimization method of a vehicle flow in a traffic network is abstracted into particles, and an optimal traffic flow solution distribution scheme is searched in a multi-dimensional search space, so that dynamic optimization of the traffic flow is realized.
