The capstan with the buffering clutch comprises a rotating power part, a roller, a brake mechanism, a primary planetary speed reduction assembly, a secondary planetary speed reduction assembly and a clutch mechanism, and the rotating power part is sequentially connected with the brake mechanism, the primary planetary speed reduction assembly, the clutch mechanism and the secondary planetary speed reduction assembly through a transmission coupler to form speed reduction transmission. The secondary planetary reduction assembly is connected with the roller; the clutch mechanism controls a clutch shaft to move in the axial direction through rotation of a clutch rotary knob assembly to achieve clutch state switching. According to the clutch, the buffer spring is added to serve as a buffer component for power transmission, impact of the clutch in the operation process can be relieved, particularly when a winch starts and stops working, the spring can absorb and disperse the impact force, and therefore other transmission components are protected against damage.
