The invention relates to a fuel cell vehicle, a method of controlling startup thereof, and a recording medium. A fuel cell vehicle includes a cell and a cell stack including a plurality of unit cells stacked on top of each other. The fuel cell vehicle also includes a boost converter configured to boost and output a target voltage received from the stack in response to the switching signal. The fuel cell vehicle also includes a switching unit configured to be switched to connect the output side of the boost converter to the battery in response to the control signal. The fuel cell vehicle also includes a controller configured to generate a control signal upon request to start the fuel cell vehicle. The controller is further configured to vary a switching frequency of the switching signal in response to a difference between a first voltage output from the stack and a second voltage of the cell.
