The invention relates to the technical field of automobile suspensions, and discloses a sliding column type independent suspension assembly of a new energy automobile, which comprises a steering motor for driving a steering driven gear to rotate through a steering driving gear; the gear shaft penetrates through the middle part of the steering driven gear; the outer side of the shock absorber assembly is connected with a sliding column, and a gear is fixed outside the sliding column and used for transmitting power of a driven gear to drive the sliding column to rotate; the wheel hub is sleeved with the tire, a wheel hub motor is installed in the wheel hub, one face of a stator in the wheel hub motor is fixedly connected with a connecting arm, and the connecting arm is fixedly connected with the sliding column. A hub motor drives tires to rotate to achieve advancing of a vehicle body, a steering motor drives a sliding column to rotate through a gear set, and then the sliding column drives a connecting arm and the tires to complete steering. The tires drive the sliding columns to vertically move after being impacted by the road surface, the shock absorber assembly reduces the vibration amplitude to stabilize the vehicle body, components such as a differential mechanism, a half shaft, a steering gear and a tie rod are not needed, and therefore the suspension structure is simplified, and complexity is reduced.
