The invention belongs to the technical field of railway vehicle damping, and particularly relates to a coupler buffer which comprises a guide rod, positioning and fixing assemblies arranged at the two ends of the guide rod and a buffer assembly arranged on the guide rod in a sleeving mode, and the buffer assembly is located between the positioning and fixing assemblies at the two ends. The buffer assembly comprises a plurality of partition plates arranged in a scattered mode and elastic bodies arranged between every two adjacent partition plates, the partition plates and the elastic bodies are matched through a multi-point concave-convex structure, and the partition plates and the elastic bodies can be mutually positioned and form a tandem type whole. Compared with a common structure that the partition plate and the elastic body are only attached, the positions of the partition plate and the elastic body are not prone to deviation, stability is higher, and damage caused by friction between the partition plate and the middle guide rod and uneven stress of the elastic body can be effectively avoided.
