The present disclosure provides "selective vehicle sensor actuation". A system may include a computer coupled to a memory that stores instructions to determine an upcoming interval for operating a sensor at a planned destination and to determine an upcoming duration to travel to the planned destination. In response to determining that a battery coupled to the sensor includes a state of charge (SOC) insufficient to operate the sensor within the upcoming interval, programming of the computer may schedule a charging interval during vehicle travel to the planned destination, and actuating battery charging according to the scheduled charging interval during travel of the vehicle.
