The method comprises the steps that a vehicle driving request of a target object is responded, and the current maximum driving force and driving resistance of a vehicle are obtained; wherein the vehicle driving request is used for controlling the vehicle to start driving from a starting position to a destination, and the driving resistance represents the sum of resistance borne by the vehicle in the driving process; according to the maximum driving force, the running resistance and the total weight of the vehicle, the load safety slope threshold value of the vehicle is determined; wherein the total weight is the sum of the weight of the vehicle and the load of the vehicle, and the load safety gradient threshold value is the maximum road gradient for safe driving of the vehicle; and according to the load safety gradient threshold, screening out a target driving path from the plurality of candidate driving paths, and controlling the vehicle to drive on the target driving path. According to the technical scheme, the climbing ability and the downhill ability of the vehicle can be accurately evaluated, and the driving safety is improved.
