The invention relates to a power-saving device and method for managing a battery. A battery management apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention may include: a battery control unit for receiving a detected operating state of a motor and detecting a state of charge of a battery; and a condition control unit for applying a weight to at least one of an operating state of the motor and a state of charge of the battery to adjust an operating condition of the battery control unit, and allowing the battery control unit to operate based on the adjusted operating condition.
