The invention belongs to the technical field of turnout close-fitting gap detection, and provides a turnout close-fitting gap detection device and method which are used for detecting a close-fitting gap between a turnout stock rail and a turnout switch rail. The method comprises the steps that an iron core combination comprises two iron cores and a bottom plate, the two iron cores are installed on a turnout stock rail, one ends of the two iron cores face the turnout stock rail, the other ends of the two iron cores face a turnout switch rail, and gaps exist between the two iron cores and the turnout switch rail; the bottom plate is fixedly mounted on the rail web of the turnout stock rail, and the iron core and the bottom plate are integrally formed; the bottom plate is arranged on the side, close to a turnout stock rail, of the iron core. The two induction coils are respectively sleeved on the two iron cores; the two magnet exciting coils are respectively sleeved on the two induction coils and are coaxial with the two induction coils; the excitation module is used for exciting two induction coils to generate induced electromotive force; the input end of the calculation module is connected with the output ends of the two induction coils; and the calculation module is used for calculating the value of the close-fitting gap according to the value of the induced electromotive force generated in the two induction coils. The problem that a mechanical detection device is usually prone to being abraded, so that the measurement of the close-fitting gap is inaccurate can be solved.
