The invention discloses a fairing honeycomb interlayer sound insulation structure and a design method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of aerospace transportation systems. According to the design method, the glass fiber, the felt or the melamine and other sound absorption materials are added into the honeycomb interlayer of the fairing, sound waves are reflected due to changes of acoustic impedance in a transmission path due to the introduced sound absorption materials, and sound wave energy can be attenuated in the process that the sound waves penetrate through the sound absorption materials; therefore, according to the method, the honeycomb interlayer fairing can have the isolation and absorption integrated function, and the overall sound insulation performance of the honeycomb interlayer fairing is improved. The fairing honeycomb interlayer sound insulation structure comprises a honeycomb interlayer panel serving as a fairing shell. The honeycomb interlayer panel comprises two layers of metal plates and a honeycomb interlayer, and the honeycomb interlayer is located between the two layers of metal plates, so that the honeycomb interlayer fairing has a separation and absorption integrated function, the overall sound insulation performance of the honeycomb interlayer fairing is improved, and meanwhile, the problems that the inner envelope of the fairing is reduced, and redundant materials are generated are avoided.
