The invention relates to a throttle actuation system (300) for a vehicle. The invention relates to a throttle valve system (100) comprising a throttle valve actuation transmitter system (100) comprising: a position sensing module (106) for sensing a throttle valve rotation angle of a throttle valve grip (102); and a position determination module (114) electrically coupled to the position sensing module (106) for determining a throttle valve opening based on the throttle rotation angle. It also includes a throttle actuation receiver system (200), the throttle actuation receiver system (200) including: a throttle valve control module adapted (202) to be wirelessly coupled to the position determination module (114) to receive a throttle valve opening; and a drive motor (212) electrically coupled to the throttle valve control module (202) for powering the drive motor (212) to actuate the throttle valve (206) according to the throttle valve opening.
