The present disclosure relates to an automated personnel transport system comprising: a drive sprocket (1) configured to drive a ladder path of the automated personnel transport system to move; the speed measuring device comprises a sensor (2) and a chain wheel synchronizing part (3), the chain wheel synchronizing part (3) is installed on the driving chain wheel (1) so as to synchronously rotate along with the driving chain wheel (1), and the sensor (2) is configured to sense the chain wheel synchronizing part (3) or at least one part of the chain wheel synchronizing part (3) to generate a sensor signal.
