The present disclosure provides a vehicle electrical system sharing a primary power source with an assembly device. A motor vehicle power distribution system includes a assembler power supply subsystem having over-current protection for tripping (disconnecting) solid state relays when current drawn by the assembler subsystem from a primary power source affects other priority electrical loads of the vehicle. An alert/alert is generated to notify a user (e.g., a driver) of a trip event, which may include a real-time mapping of a recent event history. To restore power to the assembler subsystem, a voltage supplied to the assembler subsystem by a supplemental battery (i.e., a vehicle starter battery) is monitored. If the voltage is stable, the voltage from the main power source intentionally falls down to a stable value, and the solid state relay is reclosed. The main voltage is then ramped back to its nominal value. If the solid state relay has overoperated, an automatic reset time may be added to delay reclosing.
