The invention provides a universal charging system for an electric bicycle. The system is applied to the technical field of electric bicycle charging, and comprises a battery type identification unit for obtaining the battery type of an electric bicycle; the battery polarity identification unit obtains the battery polarity of the electric bicycle and automatically adjusts the positive and negative poles in the charging plug; the matching unit matches the power supply voltage of the charging plug with the voltage of a battery to be charged on the electric bicycle; the charging voltage detection unit calculates a charging voltage stability coefficient; the charging current detection unit calculates a charging current stability coefficient; the central control module performs voltage early warning on the charging voltage stability according to the charging voltage stability coefficient to obtain voltage early warning information; performing current early warning on the charging current stability according to the charging current stability coefficient to obtain current early warning information; and controlling automatic power-off according to the voltage early warning information and the current early warning information. In this way, the charging efficiency of the electric bicycle can be improved.
