The continuously variable transmission comprises a power transmission device and a variable speed adjusting device, the power transmission device comprises an input wheel, an output wheel, a variable speed adjusting wheel and a plurality of locking pieces, a plurality of containing grooves are formed in the two sides of the variable speed adjusting wheel, the lengths of the containing grooves extend in the radial direction, and the containing grooves are distributed in the circumferential direction of the variable speed adjusting wheel. The multiple locking pieces are in sliding fit with the multiple containing grooves in a one-to-one correspondence mode. At least one of the locking pieces is locked to the input wheel, and at least one of the locking pieces is locked to the output wheel. The eccentric adjusting device is used for adjusting the positions of the locking pieces which are finally locked to the input wheel and the output wheel in the corresponding containing grooves. According to the continuously variable transmission, non-friction continuous stepless speed change can be achieved. When the bicycle is used in the fields of bicycles and power-assisted bicycles, the requirement for personalized adjustment of pedaling force in the riding process of people can be met, and the speed ratio required by people within the speed change range can be easily and rapidly adjusted in the bicycle stopping state, the riding state and the sliding state.
