The invention provides a shock absorber and a bracket with improved mounting rigidity. The cylindrical portion is formed by bending a sheet having a back transition portion formed between a first hole and a second hole into a cylindrical shape after the first hole and the second hole are press-processed in the sheet (flat plate). Therefore, compared with a conventional bracket without a back transition part, the bracket has the advantages that the formability is improved, and the precision (particularly cylindricity) of the cylindrical part can be improved. As a result, when the bumper is attached to the knuckle via the bracket, the attachment rigidity of the bumper with respect to a lateral force in the front-rear direction of the vehicle can be improved.
