A stop line search device is provided with: an image acquisition means for acquiring an image in which the front of a vehicle is captured; a traffic light detection unit that detects, on the basis of the image, a traffic light provided at an intersection in front of the host vehicle; and a setting means that, when the traffic light detection means detects a far-side traffic light located on the far side of the intersection as viewed from the own vehicle, sets the traffic light on the basis of a detection result indicating whether or not a front-side traffic light located on the front side of the intersection as viewed from the own vehicle is detected by the traffic light detection means. A stop line search area for searching for a stop line related to an intersection is set.

    停止线搜索装置具备:图像取得单元,其取得拍摄自身车辆的前方而得到的图像;信号机检测单元,其基于图像,检测设置在自身车辆的前方的交叉路口处的信号机;以及设定单元,其在由信号机检测单元检测到从自身车辆观察而位于交叉路口的远侧的远侧信号机的情况下,基于表示是否由信号机检测单元检测到从自身车辆观察而位于交叉路口的跟前侧的跟前侧信号机的检测结果,设定用于搜索交叉路口所涉及的停止线的停止线搜索区域。
