A method for automatic longitudinal guidance of a motor vehicle is provided. The method includes identifying whether there are two turns in a forward road section, and if there are two turns in the forward road section identified, maintaining the speed of the motor vehicle at a constant target speed value after driving through a first one of the two turns until a second one of the two turns is reached.
