The invention relates to a multispectral photoelectric pod with an automatic axis calibration function and an automatic axis calibration method, and the multispectral photoelectric pod comprises a load cabin which is internally provided with a laser illuminator for photoelectric detection, a visible light sensor and a medium-wave infrared sensor, and is provided with a laser window through which laser passes and a visible light window through which visible light passes; the pitching cabin is rotationally connected to the load cabin and drives the load cabin to rotate in a pitching manner, and the pitching cabin is provided with a cube-corner prism group for checking the optical axis of the laser measuring and illuminating device and the optical axis of the visible light sensor; and the processing module is connected with the laser measuring and illuminating device, the visible light sensor and the medium-wave infrared sensor, and is used for calculating the optical axis deviation and adjusting the optical axis positions of the visible light sensor and the medium-wave infrared sensor according to the optical axis deviation. According to the invention, no extra short wave sensor or light tube is added, the requirements of the sensors on the volume and the weight are avoided, the design difficulty is reduced, the volume of the combat sensor is increased, and the combat effectiveness is improved.
