According to the highway toll station congestion evaluation and processing method, on the basis of massive highway toll station and portal flow data and road gate license plate recognition data, firstly, a data cleaning and preprocessing process is carried out to obtain an available basic data set, and a travel sequence of all vehicles is obtained through a data fusion process; and a data set corresponding to the highway toll station is obtained through a road network matching process and is used for toll station operation index calculation, and a toll station congestion evaluation index system is established.
