The present disclosure provides, inter alia, a tilt adjustment system and method for preventing overturning of an aerial lift during operation. An aerial lift equipped with such a system is also provided. The tilt adjustment system includes a plurality of sensors including at least a tilt sensor and a lower boom sensor, or measures a chassis angle and a lower boom angle in real time and communicates these values to a control module that correspondingly controls a hydraulic enable valve. The tilt adjustment system also additionally includes a boom frame having a mechanical stow switch.
