The invention belongs to the technical field of elevator safety tongs, and particularly relates to a power-loss trigger safety tongs which are used for stopping an elevator car or a counterweight when the elevator car is overspeed and comprise a mounting seat, and a trigger mechanism, a brake mechanism, a detection mechanism and a control system are arranged on the mounting seat. The triggering mechanism is used for triggering the braking mechanism when the elevator car overspeeds or is powered off; the braking mechanism is used for braking the elevator car or the counterweight when the elevator car is overspeed or powered off; the detection mechanism is used for detecting action and reset states of the brake mechanism; the control system is electrically connected with the trigger mechanism, the brake mechanism and the detection mechanism; the trigger spring is arranged in the electromagnet, the trigger delay time is shortened, and the whole mechanism is compact and can adapt to different hoistway environments; the stroke of the electromagnet can be reduced on the premise that the braking stroke of the limiting pin roller is not changed; quick response and effective braking of abnormal conditions such as overspeed and power failure of the elevator car are achieved, and an important guarantee is provided for safe operation of the elevator.
