The invention relates to power demand distribution, in particular to a power demand distribution system (PDAS) for a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), the FCEV comprising a fuel cell and a battery, the system comprising: a predictor, the predictor is configured to receive a signal indicating a current operating state of the FCEV and determine a future operating state of the FCEV based on the current operating state of the FCEV and a past operating state; and an optimizer configured to determine a power demand allocation for the fuel cell and the storage battery based on the future operating state, where a past operating state, a current operating state, and a future operating state of the FCEV include respective temporal evolution of the power demand of the FCEV, and where the current operating state and the future operating state of the FCEV include respective temporal evolution of the power demand of the FCEV. The current operating state includes a first cyclic temporal evolution and the past operating state includes a second cyclic temporal evolution.
