The invention relates to a man-machine cooperative steering control and driving weight adjusting method and device, and the driving weight adjusting method comprises the steps: obtaining an elliptical risk potential field of a vehicle and a driving risk coefficient of a driver; and determining the driving weight of the driver according to the elliptical risk potential field of the vehicle and the driving risk coefficient of the driver. The driving factors of the driver and the driving factors of the vehicle are comprehensively considered, so that the driving weight of the driver can be adjusted more accurately and stably. For example, when the driving risk coefficient of the driver is high, the driving weight of the driver can be reduced, and therefore the vehicle driving risk is reduced on the whole. Therefore, the problem that the safety of man-machine cooperative control is low due to the fact that an existing driving weight adjusting method cannot accurately and stably adjust the driving weight of the driver is solved.
