The invention relates to the technical field of automatic driving, and provides an automatic driving speed control method and device. The method comprises the following steps: detecting a road surface in front of a target vehicle through a vehicle-mounted radar to obtain radar detection data; the radar detection data are analyzed, the road surface information of the front road surface is determined, and the road surface information comprises the road surface vertical height of each road surface position point on the front road surface; based on the vertical height of the road surface, analyzing whether an uneven area exists in the front road surface, and if yes, determining area information of the uneven area; determining an expected speed of the target vehicle passing through the uneven area according to the area information; determining a first speed change curve according to the current real-time speed and the expected speed of the target vehicle; and controlling the target vehicle to run through the front road surface according to the first speed change curve. According to the scheme, when the target vehicle runs, the influence of whether the road surface is flat or not on vehicle running is considered, so that the negative influence of the road surface condition on the driving experience is reduced.
