The calculation method comprises the following steps: defining a shunting positioning information packet message writing rule; obtaining an effective range interval during shunting operation, arranging two transponder groups in the effective range interval, and obtaining a distance data set between the two ends of a train, the two ends of the effective range and the two transponder groups during shunting operation; writing a shunting positioning information packet message based on the distance data set, the information of the group transponder group and the shunting positioning information packet message writing rule; and calculating based on the shunting positioning information packet message to determine the position of the train. According to the shunting positioning message designed by the invention, the rapid positioning of the train after shunting is realized, and an important preceding condition is provided for improving the train operation efficiency and the train operation safety.
