The invention provides a ramp assist unit and a ramp assist method for a vehicle. The ramp auxiliary unit comprises a state management module and a hill-holding auxiliary module. The state management module is configured to judge whether the current state of the vehicle and the gradient value of the ramp where the vehicle is located meet the starting condition of the hill-holding auxiliary function or not, and set the state of the hill-holding auxiliary function to be the starting state when it is judged that the starting condition of the hill-holding auxiliary function is met. The hill-holding assisting module is configured to enable the vehicle to be parked on the ramp in combination with control over at least two of a braking system, a driving system and an electronic parking braking system of the vehicle after the hill-holding assisting function is started.
