The invention relates to the technical field of shipbuilding, and discloses a turnover method for an overweight section, which comprises the following steps of: arranging a first main lifting point and a first auxiliary lifting point on one side of the overweight section, operating a first crane to be connected with the first main lifting point, and operating a second crane to be connected with the first auxiliary lifting point; a second main lifting point and a second auxiliary lifting point are arranged on the other side of the overweight section; the connection between the second crane and the first auxiliary lifting point is relieved, and the overweight section rotates around the first main lifting point under the lifting of the first crane to be turned over for the first time; after the overweight section is turned over for the first time, the second crane is operated to be connected with the second main lifting point; the connection between the first crane and the first main lifting point is removed, and the overweight section rotates around the second main lifting point under the lifting of the second crane to turn over for the second time; and after the overweight section is turned over for the second time, the first crane is operated to be connected with the second auxiliary lifting point. According to the application, the safety risk in construction is effectively reduced through the scattered multi-lifting-point design.
