An automatic lane changing activation system comprises a main vehicle which comprises a vehicle-mounted computer. The telematics module communicates global positioning system (GPS) data between the computer and the telematics module. A host vehicle display device receives a signal from a computer. The visual system status is presented to a host vehicle user by a display device including an information screen presenting road information messages, a control screen presenting opportunity messages for the user to identify that the host vehicle switches from a first road lane to a second road lane, and a lane change direction arrow indicating a path on which the host vehicle is to travel. A motion control module in the host vehicle receives a control signal (including a lane change execution signal) from the computer for the host vehicle to start and control the vehicle to change lanes automatically in a non-congested area of the road.
