Solar charging equipment, a first current converter and energy storage equipment are deployed on the vehicle. After the vehicle is powered on, the vehicle charging control device obtains the illumination intensity and determines the output voltage of the solar charging equipment according to the illumination intensity. Furthermore, the vehicle charging control device obtains the actual capacity of the energy storage equipment and determines the terminal voltage of the energy storage equipment according to the actual capacity. Furthermore, the vehicle charging control device controls the first current converter to be turned on under the conditions that the output voltage is larger than the terminal voltage, the illumination intensity is larger than the preset illumination intensity and the actual capacity is smaller than the first capacity, so that the solar charging equipment charges the energy storage equipment through the first current converter. Therefore, the charging efficiency is improved under the condition of ensuring that the solar energy is utilized to safely charge the electric vehicle.
