The invention discloses a novel cruising mileage calculation method, the cruising mileage (km) = remaining oil quantity (L) * (A/3 + B/3 + C/3), the unit of A, B and C is km/L, and A is the average oil consumption of the latest 0-30 kilometers; b is the average fuel consumption of 30 km to 60 km kilometers recently; c is the latest average fuel consumption of 60 km to 90 km kilometers; and the values A, B and C are circularly updated every time the vehicle travels for 30 km. The method has the following advantages and effects: 1, the fluctuation of the endurance mileage under the normal road condition is greatly reduced; 2, in the normal driving process, the relevance (linearity) between the reduction of the endurance mileage and the driving distance is higher, and a driver feels that the value is more real and reliable; and 3, when the road condition is obviously changed, the updating frequency of the endurance mileage (display value) caused by the change of oil consumption is greatly reduced.
