The present disclosure provides a system and method for stroke generation of a driveline disconnect clutch. Systems and methods for operating a driveline disconnect clutch of a hybrid vehicle are presented. In one example, a driveline disconnect clutch is positioned based on whether slip may exist across the driveline disconnect clutch. In one example, slip may be inferred from vehicle speed and torque converter impeller speed.
