The invention discloses a transfer orbit electric propulsion satellite thrust drop detection method and system, and the method comprises the steps: building a real-time thrust-resultant force change relation model of a single electric thruster according to satellite data; based on the real-time thrust-resultant force change relation model of the single electric thruster, calculating a satellite resultant force tolerance range according to the thrust tolerance range of the electric thruster; if the electric thruster breaks down, the installation position of the broken-down electric thruster is determined firstly; and determining a fault mode of the fault electric thruster by using the fault mode function of the fault electric thruster according to the resultant force at different moments in the satellite working time range and the installation position of the fault electric thruster, and generating a thrust curve of the fault electric thruster. According to the method, the thrust change in any form can be effectively tracked, the fault thruster is locked, and the fault mode is judged, so that corrective measures are taken in time to ensure that the orbit and attitude of a satellite are kept in a preset target range.
