The invention belongs to the technical field of floating type wind power platforms, and provides application of a novel universal joint structure on a wind power platform tension leg and a tension leg platform. The fan is assembled on the tension leg platform and is used for generating power; the tension tendons are arranged at the lower end of the outer side of the tension leg platform; the anchoring foundations are arranged at the bottom ends of the tension tendons; the upper connecting assembly is used for connecting the tension leg platform and the tension tendon; the tension tendon made of the anchor chain, the steel wire rope or the high-strength synthetic fiber is used for replacing a high-strength steel pipe in a traditional tension tendon system, the upper connecting assembly and the lower connecting assembly are used for replacing an upper flexible connector and a lower flexible connector, and therefore flexible connecting pieces are not needed any more, and the system structure is simplified; the upper connecting assembly and the lower connecting assembly are of novel universal joint structures, bending possibly existing on the upper lifting lug and the lower lifting lug of the tension leg wind power platform is basically eliminated, and construction and installation cost is further saved.
