The invention provides a wheel chamber thermal energy management system and management method. A wheelhouse thermal energy management system includes a wheelhouse liner and a deflector. Both the wheelhouse liner and the deflector establish a portion of an aperture configured to direct a flow of air to a wheelhouse of the vehicle. The wheel chamber heat energy management method comprises the steps that a vehicle is moved; and during the movement, directing a flow of air through an aperture into a wheel chamber of the vehicle. The aperture is established by the wheel chamber liner with the deflector.
