The invention belongs to the field of urban rail train signal systems, and discloses a method and device for detecting the position of an urban rail three-phase alternating current five-wire system turnout, and the detection method comprises the steps: determining switch machine circuits at different positions through analyzing the action principle of the five-wire system turnout; the output voltage on X1 is controlled according to a switch machine circuit, and voltage acquisition circuits on X2, X3, X4 and X5 are designed; finally, the actual position and the line state of the turnout are judged according to the collection value of the voltage collection circuit. The voltage acquisition circuit adopts direct-current voltage, an action power supply and an acquisition power supply of the switch machine are separated, and the availability of the system is improved. Line faults are automatically detected, and the availability and maintainability of the system are improved. The circuit is compatible with an original relay circuit, and smooth upgrading of the relay circuit to a full-electronic system is facilitated.
