The method is applied to a mobile energy storage device, and comprises the following steps: acquiring a moving distance between the mobile energy storage device and a to-be-charged vehicle and the current residual electric quantity of the mobile energy storage device under the condition that a charging demand instruction initiated by the to-be-charged vehicle is received; and under the condition that the moving distance is smaller than a preset distance threshold value and the current residual electric quantity is larger than a first preset electric quantity threshold value, the mobile energy storage device is driven to move towards the position where the to-be-charged vehicle is located, and the to-be-charged vehicle is charged. By adopting the method, the charging convenience can be improved.
