The invention relates to the technical field of hoisting machinery, in particular to a hoisting mechanism and a crane adopting the hoisting mechanism. The hoisting mechanism comprises a mechanism main body, a winding device and a lifting hook device, a hoisting height limiter is arranged on the mechanism main body and is in signal connection with the winding device, the winding device is arranged on the mechanism main body and is movably connected with the lifting hook device through a steel wire rope, and the lifting hook device is arranged on the mechanism main body. The lifting hook device is located below the winding device and can be driven by the winding device to move up and down, and the lifting device is characterized in that an elastic limiting assembly is arranged on the lifting hook device, and the elastic limiting assembly is higher than the lifting hook device and located under the lifting height limiter. When the lifting hook device of the lifting mechanism continues to be lifted due to inertia, the elastic limiting assembly absorbs inertia impact force from the lifting hook device through recoverable bending elastic deformation and releases elastic potential energy to restore the original shape when the lifting hook device descends, and therefore the limiting failure rate of the lifting mechanism is greatly reduced.
