The invention belongs to the technical field of flight control system design, and particularly relates to a method and device for determining the deflection angle of a loose floating control surface during an aircraft hydraulic fault. The method comprises the steps that S1, the deviation of a hinge moment actual value and a hinge moment instruction value is calculated according to the hinge moment actual value and the hinge moment instruction value, and the hinge moment instruction value is 0 when hydraulic faults occur; s2, based on a preset integrator, calculating the deviation to obtain a rudder deviation angle; s3, interpolating the rudder deflection angle in a preset hinge moment interpolation table to obtain a hinge moment coefficient; s4, calculating a hinge moment; and S5, taking the calculated hinge moment as a new actual value of the hinge moment, repeating the steps until the deviation converges, and outputting a rudder deflection angle which is the deflection angle of the loose floating rudder surface when the hydraulic fault of the airplane occurs. According to the method, the rudder deflection angle of the fault rudder surface during hydraulic failure can be accurately and quickly calculated, the conditions of insufficient rudder effect and non-instruction movement of an airplane during flight in the air are avoided, and safe flight of the airplane is ensured.
