The invention discloses an automatic charging control system and method applied to an electric vehicle. The system comprises a vehicle end data module, an anchor point module, a vehicle end control module, a charging end data module, an anchor point label module and a charging end control module. The vehicle end data module sends the vehicle end state data to the vehicle end control module, and the vehicle end control module judges whether the vehicle meets a charged condition or not; the charging end data module sends the charging gun homing data to the charging end control module, and the charging end control module judges whether the charging end meets the charging condition or not; the anchor point module is used for configuring an anchor point, and the vehicle end control module activates the anchor point when the vehicle meets the charged condition; the anchor point label module is used for configuring an anchor point label, and when the charging end meets the charging condition, the charging end control module activates the anchor point label; the activated anchor point and the activated anchor point label continuously monitor the relative position of the charging gun relative to the charging port cover, and the vehicle end control module dynamically controls opening and closing of the charging port cover based on the relative position.
