The invention relates to an automatic driving control method and system, and the method comprises the steps: enabling a main controller to enter a normal driving control mode when the main controller is normal and an auxiliary controller is normal, and enabling the auxiliary controller to enter a standby mode; the vehicle-mounted millimeter-wave radar performs vehicle body compensation and time synchronization on the detected millimeter-wave radar signal according to the first vehicle body compensation signal and the first time synchronization signal to obtain a first millimeter-wave radar signal; the main controller controls the vehicle to run according to the first millimeter wave radar signal; when the main controller breaks down and the auxiliary controller is normal, the main controller enters a fault mode, and the auxiliary controller enters a failure operation control mode; the vehicle-mounted millimeter-wave radar performs vehicle body compensation and time synchronization on the detected millimeter-wave radar signal according to the second vehicle body compensation signal and the second time synchronization signal to obtain a second millimeter-wave radar signal; and the auxiliary controller controls the vehicle to run according to the second millimeter wave radar signal and prompts the driver to take over the vehicle.
