A wheel brake device (100) comprising: a first brake pad device (102) comprising a first backing plate (116) having a first surface supporting a first brake pad (104), and a second brake pad device (150) comprising a second backing plate (116 ') supporting a second brake pad (104'); a pad retaining spring (302) connected to the second brake pad arrangement for preventing radial displacement of the second brake pad arrangement; a stop lever (110) extending in the axial direction of the wheel brake device (100) across the first brake pad device (102) and the second brake pad device (150), the stop lever (110) radially supporting the pad retaining spring (302); and a resilient member (114) connected to the second surface (120) of the first backing plate (116), the second surface (120) facing away from the first brake pad (104), the resilient member (114) being engaged with the stop lever (110) such that there is a radial force component between the resilient member (114) and the stop lever (110).
