The method comprises the following steps that electric drive axle braking energy demand torque and electric drive axle output end rotating speed are obtained; the braking energy recovery rate of the electric drive axle under different motor braking torque distribution proportions is calculated according to the obtained electric drive axle braking energy demand torque and the electric drive axle output end rotating speed in combination with the rotating speed of a motor; and according to the calculated braking energy recovery rates of the electric drive axle under different motor braking torque distribution proportions, the motor braking torque distribution proportion enabling the braking energy recovery rate of the electric drive axle to be the maximum is selected as the braking torque distribution proportion of the electric drive axle under the current working condition. And under the condition that the braking requirement of the vehicle is guaranteed, the braking energy recovery rate of the vehicle is increased through braking torque coordination and transfer among the multiple motors, and the cruising ability of the vehicle can be improved.
