The invention relates to a device and a method for bringing an electric vehicle into contact with a charging station, and a corresponding charging station. The contact of the electric vehicle with the charging station can be carried out in such a way that a contact element of the electric vehicle can be automatically lowered to a corresponding contact surface of the charging station. In order to check the reliable contact of the electric vehicle with the charging station, a measuring contact is additionally provided. By means of these measuring contacts, a reliable contact of the connection of the electric vehicle with the contact surface of the charging station can be checked prior to the release charging process.
