The invention discloses a method and device for determining an automobile adhesion coefficient, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining a tire slip rate, a tire longitudinal parameter and a tire lateral parameter of a vehicle in a driving process; on the basis of the longitudinal adhesion coefficient estimation activation mark and the driving state parameters of the vehicle in the driving process, the adhesion coefficient corresponding to each wheel of the vehicle is determined, and the longitudinal road surface type adhesion coefficient is determined on the basis of the tire slip rate; fusing the adhesion coefficient corresponding to each wheel and the adhesion coefficient threshold value corresponding to the longitudinal road surface type adhesion coefficient to obtain a longitudinal adhesion coefficient corresponding to each wheel; based on the lateral attachment coefficient estimation activation mark and the driving state parameters of the vehicle in the driving process, determining lateral attachment coefficients corresponding to wheels on the two sides of the vehicle; and fusing the longitudinal adhesion coefficient and the lateral adhesion coefficient to obtain a target adhesion coefficient corresponding to each wheel of the vehicle. As a result, the road adhesion coefficient of each wheel can be identified.
