The invention belongs to the technical field of vehicle control, and discloses a vehicle stability control system and method. Vehicle stability control is conducted through an anti-lock braking system and an electronic hydraulic braking system in the vehicle stability control system, the wheel speed of a wheel speed sensor is obtained through the anti-lock braking system, and a pressurization request is generated according to the wheel speed; the electronic hydraulic braking system receives the pressurization request sent by the anti-lock braking system and sends the pressurization request to the electronic hydraulic braking system; and the anti-lock braking system receives the pressurization feedback generated by the electronic hydraulic braking system according to the pressurization request, actively pressurizes wheels according to the pressurization feedback, and controls the moving posture of the vehicle. When the vehicle is not provided with an electronic stability control system, the vehicle can have the same ability to control the stability of the vehicle as when the vehicle is provided with the electronic stability control system.
