The invention provides a portable bird condition investigation device and method, and belongs to the field of aircraft safety. The portable bird condition investigation device comprises a shell, a main control board arranged in an inner cavity of the shell, and a communication module, an acquisition module and a positioning module which are connected with the main control board; the acquisition module acquires video images and audio information and sends the video images and the audio information to the main control board; the positioning module collects position information and sends the position information to the main control board; and the main control board can generate a record by using the position information, the video image and/or the audio information. According to the invention, the information of bird conditions can be automatically collected and recorded, and the efficiency of bird condition investigation and survey is greatly improved; according to the invention, the sound source positioning is utilized to guide the bird condition research staff to find the accurate position of the bird; according to the method, the investigated bird condition result can be visually output, and the display effect is more intuitive.
